Karlsruhe Exhibition Centre – Hall Overview

Karlsruhe is at the centre of a thriving region

Through its geographical location between the Rhein-Main region and France (Alsace), Karlsruhe offers a unique business climate. This climate fosters the development of various business sectors. It is certainly not without a reason that the region of Karlsruhe occupies one of the leading positions amongst the European regions with the best perspectives for future development. Almost no other region can combine economic strength and quality of life in a way that Karlsruhe can!

Schloss Karlsruhe Southern climate, lifestyle, culture and culinary highlights – in Karlsruhe all the good sides of life come together! Karlsruhe is one of the warmest cities in Germany. In addition to this mild climate, you will find a lively restaurant scene and an unrivalled relaxed atmosphere in its parks and green areas. Almost 60% of Karlsruhe’s surface are covered with parkland or forests. Go and feel the green – step on the lawn, lie in the grass!

The Karlsruhe region

Karlsruhe Karlsruhe is located at the heart of Europe. France is only a few minutes away by car and even a short trip to Switzerland is no big deal. Karlsruhe lies at the foot of the hills of the Black Forest in the Rhine valley, with excellent connections to all destinations. The towns Mannheim to the North, Stuttgart to the East and Strasbourg to the Southwest are all only a stone’s throw away.

In the past, Karlsruhe was ruled by the “Markgrafen“, today it is ruled by the sheer joy of life. The sunny sides of life all come together at the castle (”Schloss”), where the historic fan-like layout of the streets has its origin.

City of culture and technology

Although not even 300 years old, Karlsruhe has a rich tradition as economic, research and high-tech centre. Two of the most important inventions of our days were made by sons of the city: Karl Benz, who was born in the Mühlburg quarter of the city, is the father of the automobile and Freiherr von Drais invented the “Draisine”, predecessor of the modern bicycle.
